At the point that I realized that songwriting was probably not going to shelter and feed my family, I turned my skill set to commercial writing. A brief correspondence that created the desire and requested a meeting. As I learned, over the years, what people were actually looking for, I developed more concise value propositions and my closing ratio was consistently well over 50% and typically above 80%, making money for all involved. With Toyota Industrial Equipment, I was the National Sales and Product Trainer, working directly with the marketing department and over 300 sales staff across the US to present the profitability of investing in our equipment.
