Because we believe the number of people is not the most important factor to decent work. Instead, sometimes you get worse outcomes when there're too many people. "Professional", "Stable", "Creative" are the three principles that I'm always trying to follow. My experiences told me these principles produces decent work.
When I was in college(2005~2009), I was the leader of a tech club where students learn programming together, work on interesting projects together. We have wrote Instant Messager software, we have build a search engine from scratch. I think that's when I first realize how interesting it could be to solve real life problems by writing code with my own hands.
I started to get jobs from Elance.com in the 3rd year(2008) of my college. And I figured freelance is just the kind of life I'm gonna to live. So, after I graduate from college, I didn't go to a company, instead, I became a full time freelancer.
Wordpress is a big role in my programming life. I started using it in the 2nd year(2007) of my college, and soon I became an expert on it. I have developed a lot of themes and plugins for clients on Elance.
I worked on several custom PHP/Mysql projects, which require me to code from scratch. So, I came out to build my own framework which I can use in different projects. Not like those many PHP frameworks, this "crude framework"(that's what I call it) is simple and fast. Since I wrote it myself, I understand it in every detail. That speeds me up in coding. Helps me to finish my work quicker.
