I am author of the popular how-to book 'Editing Made Easy', on sale worldwide – words are my business.
Skilled and versatile, with more than 30 years' experience as a newspaper/magazine journalist and copy editor (sub-editor), I work with text of all kinds: business reports, press releases, web content, news, features and fiction.
I have a keen eye for correct grammar, punctuation, rhythm and syntax – my mission is to make sure everything can be easily understood and that nothing can be misunderstood.
I have been a senior sub-editor (copy editor) on major city newspapers, including 12 years on The Age (Melbourne, mainly on the business desk) and many years in Asia.
I work with Norah Dempster, a published writer of short stories, poems and newspaper articles. With tertiary qualifications in writing and editing, a Bachelor of Arts (Monash University) and a Graduate Diploma in Careers (Victoria), she is my astute second pair of eyes.
We work well with writers.
Writing is about communication, clarity and accuracy. I pay ruthless attention to detail, checking and correcting spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, paragraphs, syntax and overall flow of text.
You write it – I fix it: short articles, features, press releases, brochures, product information and reviews, newsletters, business reports, web content, blogs, short stories, travel, novels, biographies and general non-fiction.
Working to agreed deadlines, I offer a friendly, personal, home-based service, with the focus on open, honest communication.
