I love reading a good story, whether it's a fairy tale or a white paper, and I love helping to make each story worth reading.
Every document tells a story, not only fiction novels, but journal articles, white papers, news releases, brochures, Web sites, business proposals, even cover letters. Yet, even great storytellers aren't always great editors--and publishers, prospects, and employers are picky about niggling little things like grammar and punctuation, sentence structure and organizational flow, even line spacing and formatting.
My philosophy: Don't sweat the small stuff while you're in the creative process. Getting your story on the page is all that matters; the wrinkles can be ironed out later, and I'm happy to do the ironing for you!
My bachelor's and master's degrees are in communications and print journalism, and I started my career as a journalist and editor. Though I transitioned into marketing and public relations, my strengths and highest interest have always been in writing and editing. I've edited everything from newspaper articles to white papers to Web site copy to textbooks, fiction novels, and self-help books; and have worked with a variety of writers and styles.
So, tell your story -- leave the ironing to me.
