Responsible for design and production of grocery labels and packaging for several store brands including: Western Family, Shurfine, ShurSavings, Springfield, White Rose, Western Family Basics and Natural Directions. Designed sales sheets for presentations, point of sales materials, corporate dinner invitations and holiday announcements. Worked with the art director to update and author several style guides. Under direction from the department head, created the standards of operations and procedures guide. Assisted project managers with information needed from outside vendors to complete projects on deadline. With the art director, participated in pre-production and file trouble shooting sessions via conference call involving printers and the pre-press house, Stevenson Color. Directed product photo shoots for food packaging. Assisted food stylist at photo shoots. Proofed and approved packaging for color and accuracy of content. Attended several press checks. Prepared files according to outside vendor specifications. Regularly met with executive team to review designs of packaging and collateral. Attended focus groups and contributed to redesign and rebranding of the Western Family Natural Directions line. Production and design lead for Western Family Basics line of products. Trained interns, new designers and outside vendors how to name and file electronic files on servers, explained brand style guides and printer specifications per project.

Designer for the Rose City Rollers sporting event (bout) programs. Communicated with several outside sources including the printer. Responsible for designing ads for sponsors, ads for individual teams and league events. Maintained brand identity while seeing to the needs of individual sponsors. Coordinating with the marketing director, redesigned the look and feel of the 2010 season sporting event (bout) programs template. Successfully handed off the program responsibilities to a production artist.

Part of an international design team of engineers, artists and executives, developing toys for sale in the United States and Japan. Researched new product concepts and market trends. Created idea boards detailing research, toy trends, design solutions and packaging concepts. Created mock up packaging for sales teams. Received information and critiques from engineers and over seas artists. Worked with executive team to establish sub-branding for Re-Ment U.S. Created effective packaging and sales materials that relate to the U.S. market.
Graphic Designer, SwimWays Corporation, Virginia Beach, VA June 2004-March 2006
Designed original graphics, fabric patterns and packaging for pool toys and outdoor recreational items for sale in big box retail stores and privately owned shops. Worked with members of the marketing and sales departments, creating layouts for sell sheets, catalogs and package cross sell catalogs. Created Power Point templates for the sales team. Provided product photography for use on packaging and sales collateral. Acted as the point of contact person in the art department for the sales team and outside vendors for comps, mock ups and photography. Artistic lead on cross-functional team designing new products. Designed marketing materials including banners, leaflets and sales post cards for marketing events and trade shows. Saved the company several thousand dollars by researching and then purchasing the appropriate photography and lighting equipment necessary to produce catalog images.
