“Client was advised from the beginning that the work would be based on hours even set for fixed price. Client was advised of the tasks needed to do, and any other tasks needed would be charged extra by hours. Seems no matter what you do, there is people that can keep asking more work for the same price.
After changing the template I found out that there was custom code, client was advised of the procedure needed and the cost. She refused to pay and started pushing me to do it for free.
The site upgrade was done over a subfolder in her own server, even I sent a direct link to the cloned upgraded site, she asked for modifications (like the menu order) and kept waiting to see them on the live site. I had to explain this 3 times until she figured it out. No matter, she rate base on her own misunderstanding.
Being the site WAS ALREADY in her server, she had a link to revise it and even access to the full backend , when we agreed the modifications were over, I did ask for payment previewing problems to get the payment too. To which obviously she refused. And even I agreed to put the site live right away, she took aver 2 days to get the payment done, after reiterated requests to do so.
Is very clear the client has no knowledge to what even a link to a site is or what a cloned site is which is understandable. But which is not is that she rate me based her knowledge not mine.
Worst also is that no matter what you do to explain people that a job is based on HOURS needed for completion, they keep thinking can ask for more and more for the same price, and even rate people based on that.
Keep it in mind if you work with this client. She would probably mess your feedback as it did with mine.”
