I am a native English speaker who learned Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian living in South America as a teen, Turkish living in Turkey in recent years, and French... well... in high school in California, but I read it regularly for my academic research!
I have done a great deal of professional writing, editing, proofreading, and translation over the last 20 years - previous to entering academia in 2002, I worked both as a freelance translator/editor (English, Spanish,...
Whether business, literary, or academic, I take writing and language seriously. Getting the text right is only a minimum - each project has its own attitude, its own stance toward the reader, and making that part of the intended message is also my job as a writer, translator, editor and proofreader.
Most of my original writing has been academic in nature - my PhD dissertation came in at a hefty 653 pages (and 8 DVDs), MA thesis around 150 pages, in addition to numerous papers and articles (see http://ericederer.com/) - though I have also written advertising copy and in-house business documents (usually in bilingual English-Spanish contexts).
Here is an example of my Spanish-to-English translation: http://www.music.ucsb.edu/projects/musicandpolitics/archive/2007-2/wilde.html

I also have 20 + years professional experience in music composition, arranging, transcription, and score preparation:
as well as a dozen years' experience in web and graphic design. Please see also the care and attention I put into my recent successfully funded Kickstarter project! (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/610528987/the-nautilauta).
I look forward to bringing the same skill and care to your projects.
