FlyingBinary has active data visualisation projects in the financial, healthcare, HR, manufacturing and publishing sectors. These cover everything from operational dashboards, to management KPIs, to subscribed information publication. The corporate data in use is sourced from text extracts, spreadsheets, social media feeds, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL and Netezza databases, to name a few. Some projects are heavy in data cleansing, transformation and management, others focus on dashboard design and the human computer interface.
In addition to corporate work, FlyingBinary has worked with the Guardian on many public data visualisation projects, and has provided proof of concept visualisations for a number of Government Departments, and a cross-Whitehall view of expenditure data using the COINS dataset. This Open Data work has resulted in FlyingBinary being awarded Open Data Business status by the Cabinet Office.
