Minimum Hourly Rate $34

Electrical Engineer with software programming skills including embedded processing devices. My skills, expertise and lab facilities support developing automated manufacturing, research experimental test fixtures, motor control systems, and remote sensors. I can develop devices at the component level or end-to-end systems solutions including the long haul communications. I started using text languages like FORTRAN, BASIC, C/C++ or VHDL programming, but in 1997 I picked up using a graphical programming tool, LabVIEW, from National...

Service Description

By working with customer's operational concept, goals and objectives, we can define and mature your requirements to a design with measureable milestones. We can then go through the feasibility phase to look at risks (technology maturity, availability, liabilities, etc.), costs, schedules, market survey competition, and then determine the cost and schedule for each milestone of the prototype. For a private customer last year, I led a small 4-man development team to produce a system that could record and process two 40MHz wide streams (160MBps) of communications data on a rack mounted server computer. I designed the system to be controlled over Ethernet via TCP/IP, so it could operate on the same computer or remotely. It controlled the ADCs and an ALTERA FPGA via the host server's PCIe bus, while using USB ports for the RF front end devices. Several years ago, I led a 16-man team that developed an asymmetrical parallel signal processing engine that bridged up to 8 completely different (frequency and protocol) communications systems. This SDR design utilized Analog Devices Blackfin DSP processors along with Xilinx Virtex FPGAs for the DDC. At the network layer, I programmed it with LabVIEW and designed an automated talk group algorithm which grouped users based on their credentials such as job type, authority level or location. I have done some beta testing for National Instruments Including the latest GPGPU toolkit development and the NVIDIA CUDA libraries. Since...
