“Although the people I dealt with were friendly and responsive to the corrections that had to be made due to their own errors, the project was a total nightmare. I selected this company over others, based on what they advertise on their web site in terms of marketing, quality of animation, ability to take my idea and develop it into an explainer video that would appeal to customers, but I saw none of that once they started the job. I had to write the scripts for the two videos (with minimal assistance from them in some areas), they provided no marketing assistance or ideas, and their initial animations were horribly amateurish to say the least. So I had to also write the storyboard for both videos, and even with the step-by-step instructions i provided, they constantly got it wrong. I never imagined when I hired them that I would become part of their staff to do my own videos.
I hate to give anyone bad reviews, especially because they finally came through with decent looking products, but I think it is important for others to know the good and the bad of a freelancer. My videos now contain mostly what I put together, not what I had hoped a professional marketing and animation company would have done for me, and thus after months of delays which adversely affected my delivery deadlines, I had to settle for whatever I could get so that I would have something. Maybe it was the animator's fault or just my luck, but management ultimately bears the responsibility to supervise the production, and I saw no evidence of that. The communication was also a challenge and contributed to the unnecessary delays. No discounts were offered for the delays and poor workmanship, but after finally getting the product, I had no problem paying the full price I was charged, because they did do a lot of work. I have suffered significant economic loss due to the unreasonable delays, and I hope this feedback helps them do a better job for future clients.”
