In previous lives, I was a European secretary, an investment banker in Germany and the US, a part-time college student during several years of banking, and a full-time sociology student. I obtained my B.A. in Sociology and International studies from a small liberal arts college in NYC.
I reside in Germany now but spent 11 years of my life in the US, (NYC and NJ). I am married and have two sons, one of whom has an autism spectrum disorder, which is where my knowledge of special needs terminology comes from. Both boys attend Kindergarten now, which gives me time to work on your translation needs.
While I do not have official translation credentials, I have written extensively in English--I obtained my B.A. in the US and
attended graduate school for three years. While I worked with numbers mostly, I supposedly wrote very elegant memos and proof read and edited much of what my (native speaker...) colleagues sent out. I also free-lanced for my husband's former employer, translating several user manuals for the devices they sold.
I am a secretary by training and hold several diplomas by the German Sekretarial Organisation (DSV) and the German IHK as well as the European Secretarial Association.
I would also be happy to write articles on topics I have experience with. That includes sociology and anything related to small children as well as special needs in general and autism in particular.
