I am a professional translator, editor and writer with 20 years of experience ready to deliver quality work at an affordable rate. Creativity, punctuality and accuracy are my priorities. Spanish is my native language.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Universidad Iberoamericana.
I have been an Editor/Writer for ZETA, a weekly newspaper based in Mexico, since August of 1989.
I taught Literature, Journalism and Film Critique at Univer-Universidad from 2001-2012. Currently I offer specialized seminars at several universities..
In October 2006 I was awarded the Western Enterprise Reporting Fellowship at Stanford University.
I have been a freelance Translator ((English-Spanish-English) since 1993 working with medical, promotional (Tourism) and literary materials. Also, I have written and translated scripts for Telemundo and Stu Segall Productions.
My strategy is simple: I commit 100%. Always. Your complete satisfaction is my goal.
I am a freelance writer, editor and translator. I am fluent in both English and Spanish. My work is backed up by 20 years of experience. Currently I do work full time as an Editor for Semanario ZETA, a newspaper based in Tijuana, Mexico. However, I have extra time on my hands to fully commit to other writing and translation projects. I find that free lance work is a breath of fresh air for me and that is why I enjoy it so much. The more diverse it is, the better as you can see by the following list of publications I have authored and co-authored:
Translation (Spanish-English) of the visual arts book titled 30 pintores de Baja California (30 painters from Baja California), published by the Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes. Translation (Spanish-English) of the poem La otra realidad (The other reality), by Eduardo Langagne, which was turned into the prologue of the book La otra realidad, coordinated by painter Roberto Rosique and photographer Enrique Trejo. Also, I have collaborated with Universidad Iberoamericana during the Binational Encounters of Schools of Communications. I am the editor of the book La pluma y el lacipero. Cronicas de Periodismo Cultural, published by the Tijuana Cultural Center and the Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes. I am also the co-author of the book La voz a ti debida, a collection of interviews with twelve of Mexico's top fiction writers. Plaza & Valdez in conjunction with UABC (Baja California Autonomous University) published this last book in 2001. Finally, I have written the screenplay Hotel California.
I will make an extra effort to deliver just what you need, when you need it, at the most affordable rate possible and, of course, focusing on delivering the highest quality job.
After working for a newspaper and in television for so long trust me when I say I am no stranger to very tight deadlines. If you need a rush job let me know.
I will do whatever it takes to make my clients completely happy with the results. I like to keep communication channels widely open and I am available seven days a week.
