IMPORTANT UPDATE: Given the large quantity of proposals my team and I decided to add two important requirements, these are:
-Experience on product design and manufacture (for example experience on CAD-to-prototype-to-manufacture process) with the objective to contribute with user experience ideas on the website.
Skills: html, mysql administration, php
“I would like to thank Gamma Lab for the effort they put into the project, they have a good team capable of doing good websites.
Having said that I must mention that I believe there are some serious shortfalls on the workflow. I will detail these shortfalls one by one:
---Schedule: This was was tightly scheduled project and we let know this very clearly. During the development Gamma Lab disappeared for almost a week, this leaved us puzzled about what was going on. I would recommend Gamma Lab to "under-promise" on the schedules, bear in mind too that schedule seems to be the Lab's weakest point based on other reviews too.
---Management tools: Gamma Lab seems to be stick to the Elance workroom, it really amazed me to learn that they don't use any kind of project management app like Trello, Asana or Basecamp. These tools are a must for freelancers, there are good reasons for this, Elance work room is a single threaded communication tool, it doesn't allow easy prioritization of tasks and newer tasks and comments can easily make the last task to be forgotten. The name of the game on freelancing is prioritization. Please use one of these tools, there are some good free options like Asana, let your clients know that you use these tools from the first day, I have lately found that a simple collaborative Google Docs is enough (if used with discipline).
---Workflow: They seem to be stick to the old waterfall methodology, Gamma Lab I would recommend you guys to be open minded to other workflows like Agile or Lean, this last one is the way most tech Silicon Valley startups come up in weeks. Warning for startups: Don't expect Gamma Lab to allow you to pivot or split-test, do a traction measurement on a MVP, perform a sprint, launch-on-first-day or just any other Agile/Lean technique.
I should probably give Gamma a lower score based on the output. I'm actually rating on "potential" not on the actual deliverable, I hope I have given useful insights for your future works.”
