I have been practicing Electrical Engineering since I graduated college with an MEEE degree. During this time, I have performed tasks from Engineer, to Technical Sales Engineer, to VP of a multi million dollar company (duties included marketing, sales, and design, and production support), to owning my own LLC. These experiences allow me to look at projects from many angles, including feasibility, cost, producability, reliability, parts and supplier selection.
Along the way I have learned much in many design areas, from discrete components, (resistors to transistors), to high level analog and digital products, (A/D's, D/A's, Op Amps, Power Supplies, Gate arrays, uP's),
and have provided detailed block diagrams for system designs including high speed interfaces, (LVDS, Ethernet, USB).
My strong point comes from the many different types of products I have designed in the past. I have an excellent and quick ability to understand what a customer wants (and sometimes really needs), and can come to a preliminary design in a short amount of time. I often start with a "can we build something that will do this?", and then offer different approaches to meet different targets, whether it is cost, size, power etc. As mentioned, HBE can bring in other experts to perform required tasks outside of my expertise, under the direction of HBE, and under the same contract.
The combination of the above gives me an excellent capability to understand customer requirements. Some...
