You should hire me when you want news articles, feature stories and African affairs especially those bordering on human rights abuses, women rights and political upheavals in Africa. I am very interested in issues affecting women in minority communities such as mine, hence I air my opinions in blogs, whenever I feel aggrieved. I was a full time reporter in various media networks in Kenya for 5 years before I decided to take the freelance road. I am bound by journalistic ethics to not only deliver factual and informative pieces but to also keep deadlines. Being a freelance journalist is like being in multiple newsrooms, all with different editorial policies. The best part is I do not have to be tied down by one policy! Different jobs, different policies. I do my own research and can deliver exclusive stories.
What makes my services stand out is the fact that I am a professional journalist first, then a freelancer second.
Many would say that a journalist is Jack of all trades so its true that I can write about everything touching on human life. However my absolute focus is on pieces that are based on real life experiences, that are thought provoking and that eventually lead to policy changes in the right places.
My areas of expertise include but not limited to;-
-Human interest features which focus on
a)Women rights and equality
b)The girl child's early year struggles in African settings.
c) Harmful cultural practices like forced/early marriages & FGM
-Translation; English - Swahili.
