“For the most part, working with Jacob was great early on, with several edits our client had on this project. With each revision, we apologized for all the back-and-forth, and he responded happily, quickly and professionally.
Towards the end, on the final version of the audio recording Jacob was supplying us, is where we had not heard from him in over 27 hours, and a deadline was put on us by the client that was not met because of lack of response from him. A quick, one minute message to let us know he was busy - or he'd have a new recording by an estimated time - would've really put us, and our client, at ease. 3 messages to Jacob went un-replied between 10am Monday and 1:30pm Tuesday. No apology was made when Jacob replied eventually, and we would've appreciated that as a courtesy. "I got to it as quickly as possible, hopefully it's in time!" is nice, but it avoids any accountability for his lack of response. A better heads-up on his timeline would've been great.
Overall, we were happy with Jacob's performance and tone, but we were forced to edit together a previous take for the client in order to meet the deadline. We understand that the deadline given to us by our client may have been sudden or impossible depending on whatever schedule Jacob was working with, but any sort of note saying he was behind schedule, or could not have met that deadline, would've saved us some face. We feel the rating on "responsiveness" is marked fairly at a 3, due to his original promptness, but then the lack of communication later on.”
“I was hired to do a particular job and completed it in a very timely manner. You then came back to me for additional recordings and I gladly did them, although they were beyond the scope of the original job. Since my services are booked days and weeks in advance, I had to squeeze in these additional recordings when I was able. Additionally, I respond to each message as soon as read. As it turns out, I was on set from 6:30 am - 9 pm on Monday and attended to other clients on Tuesday. I was not on retainer for you, so 27 hours to complete an edit beyond the scope of the original job is quite reasonable. In the future, you may want to mention the possibility of additional edits with a quick turnaround time. It is up to you to manage your clients expectations, so that is on you.”
