Assistant Chief, Large 9-1-1 Center (July 2008 Present)
The 9-1-1 Center is a one hundred and eighty-six (186) person agency and is the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). Our agency is also responsible for dispatching and resource
management of fire and police field units, which encompass several hundred field units between the two departments. The County is comprised of 602 square miles, over 900,000 citizens, and borders six counties with an average call volume exceeding two-thousand (2000) calls per day. As the Assistant Chief I am directly responsible for the day-to-day operations and have four senior managers who are a direct report. I am tasked with the interpretation of federal, state, and local guidelines in conjunction with the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures. Through my role as an administrator I can represent the county in legislative and legal matters pertaining to emergency services
and or public safety communications. As an integral part of emergency operations and in my role I also act as a liaison with Emergency Management and am an Emergency Operations Center Representative in times of crisis (i.e. natural disaster, severe weather, terrorist incident, etc.).
