Service Description

I'm first and foremost a remodeling contractor. Filed my first DBA in 1983 and won a bid to remodel a two-story full-width porch on a village Federal house: my first paid job.

Since then I've built houses, additions, pole buildings, garages and breezeways, and paid all the dues from roofing to framing to trim carpentry on the way to calling myself a Kitchen and Bath Remodeler.

Second place, however, has always been held by Writing, capital W. Co-founded a news-magazine in high school. Earned the position of EIC for my college monthly. Why didn't' I continue in Journalism? I got hijacked by my uncle Ron, who offered me work as a carpenter one summer.

I've continued to write throughout the years, however. Attended some wonderful writers' workshops, both in person and online. Written many blog articles, fictional and factual. I've even learned when it's acceptable to use sentence fragments, and when it's inadvisable.

When you combine decades of learning the ropes in several skilled trades with years spent honing my writing abilities, the result is a voice of experience. I've also learned all about deadlines, from both avenues.

A friend told me once, "you don't look like a carpenter." I laughed, of course, and replied, "just what should a carpenter look like?" Perhaps I look like a writer.
