Work with me to bring your ideas alive with strong, effective prose. I'm an experienced writer, editor and coach. My qualifications include an M.F.A. in creative writing from American University, an M.Phil. in history from Oxford, four years' experience teaching writing at elite prep schools, and a decade of copy editing and proofreading for academic and literary publications. I help authors of all ages and backgrounds develop and polish their e-books, nonfiction articles, theses, dissertations, memoirs and novels.

My goal as an editor is to help you impress readers with your fluency, clarity and attention to detail. I want readers to care about your subject as much as you do. I also want to help you develop your unique, individual voice, so that the final product reflects your creative style.
I provide compassionate, perceptive and no-nonsense developmental editing, which I sometimes refer to as writing coaching. To develop your project's potential--and coach you to grow as a writer--I listen to your goals and help you determine the most efficient way to reach them, whether it's copy editing, developmental editing (coaching) or ghostwriting. I go beyond critique and corrections to provide encouragement and advice on the entire publishing process.
I specialize in working with writers who have strong stories to tell but use English as a second language. If writing teachers have discouraged you because your grammar isn't perfect, I may be able to help you through a combination of individualized coaching, instruction, copy editing and/or ghostwriting.
I concentrate on academic, nonfiction and memoir projects. No job is too large or too small. I can also provide expert proofreading for styles including Chicago, Associated Press, AP and Oxford.
