I am a French native (from France) speaker and have lived first in Quebec City then in Western Canada for the past 30 years. I was a French Immersion French language teacher preparing my grade 12 students for the AP French language exam; I also worked for the Ministry of Education In British Columbia as an exam preparer and a marker.
As a free lance translator, I worked with many different companies, mostly from English to French: Roland Canada Music, Nanaimo Museum, l'Association des francophones de Nanaimo, Pitch-In Canada, the Canadian Dam Association. My work was straight translation, adaptations in French, video text adaptations, posters, brochures, instruction manuals, etc.
I would love to dab in literary translations.
As you can see, I am quite versatile. I have usually worked from home and always respected deadlines. If needed, I stay in touch with the client or their representatives for questions.
Therefore, I feel quite qualified to handle different translating jobs.
