Here is a summary of the Software Development Projects I undertook while I was a Bursary Student and Technologist: ENCORE • I developed an ASP.NET Web Application called Encore used to record the optical fibre network for Telkom, as well as to allocate systems on the network. • The application was developed using Visual Basic.NET. • I also created the SQL Server 2005 database and used T-SQL to script the creation of tables, views, functions and stored procedures. TXPLAN • This was a Microsoft Access Application that I developed to track projects for installation of transmission, access and switching networks. STAFF TELEPHONE DATABASE • This was a Microsoft Access Application I developed that integrates with a PABX Application used to track phone calls for staff. EDB (ELECTRONIC DISPLAY BOARD) • For my B. Tech. Electrical Engineering degree, I designed and built a LED (light emitting diode) electronic display board. I also developed the software application to be able to control the EDB using Microsoft Visual Basic 6. Typing characters in a window in the application would cause them to appear on the EDB. POS (POINT OF SALE) • I developed a Point of Sale Application using Borland C++.
