I am a Tandem-certified Mission Critical Consultant and have taught the Tandem technical curriculum around the world.
My Tandem expertise includes (but is not limited to) TAL, C, COBOL, MQ Series, SCOBOL, PATHWAY, requestor/server architecture, TACL, Guardian and OSS.
I also have considerable experience programming PCs and Macs in various flavors of C and Pascal, Unix scripting (shell, Tcl/Tk and Python), and researching/documenting large legacy applications.
Although I have not recently worked on microcomputers, web programming and J2EE, I acquired the following certifications to document my knowledge of these areas:
IBM Certified Associate Developer for the Eclipse-based WebSphere Application Developer IDE
IBM Certified System Administrator, WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Portal
CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster) Associate
I have also programmed in various FORTRANs (II, IV, WATFOR), BASICs (CBASIC, Quantel), Cs (Lightspeed, Turbo, Microsoft, Tandem), Pascals (Apple, Turbo), APL, PL/I, and scripting languages like VBScript, the Unix shell, Tcl/Tk and Python.
I specialize in programming Tandem computer systems used for scalable, fault-tolerant 7X24 applications. Tandems are principally used in "must work" large-scale transaction processing systems like ATM networks and stock exchanges where downtime translates into dramatic loss of prestige, revenue or both.
