Hello and thank you for reading!
I am seeking out a creative and skilled formatter/graphic designer for a ~21,000 word, 60-65 paged book. This is an non-fiction, informational, easy-to-read guide with the subject matter being health, fitness, nutrition, and well-being.

“The book turned out beautifully and Karen is very professional, creative, and a pleasure in emails and communication. However, this project ended up taking over three months to complete (after agreeing completion within two weeks) and we actually only ended up completing half of the initial agreed project.
Timeliness and some sporadic communication were the biggest issues. We also had some issues in regards to stock photo costs. Also, quite a few revisions had to be made and there were lags of time between updates (due to the designer having personal issues, illness, unexpected emergencies, etc.). This really dragged the project out. She has a great eye and creativity, but seems to have a lot going on. It almost seems like either too many jobs are taken on at once to reach deadlines, or attention to detail dwindles towards completion.
She is very helpful and nice and the final work did looks lovely. She was unable to complete the second half of our project due to a "creative block" and, since we were already a ways behind, we decided I should find someone else to complete that part.
From my experience, I would recommend her for smaller jobs (like a book cover, pamphlet, or ad) which do not require much time or revision, as opposed to larger jobs (like a book or publication design) which require specific deadlines. If you have no deadlines in mind or are working on something months ahead of time, Karen is a great choice.”
