“ I encourage Elancers to be careful with this client. A nice woman, and like many authors admits to lack of understanding of book layout, proofing and publication process, but Carylon is wildly unaware of the quality and quantity of work she needs and receives.
She submitted not one but 115 discreet files to be formatted and proofed for this project, plus two .pdfs to be converted into 21 and 44 images to be inserted, as well. After receiving a beautifully designed product, distilled and uploaded to her publisher following their standards, she realized that SHE had supplied the Elancer with low-quality images (100+!). And she + the publisher had had TWO test samples to review, in advance, with no correction. Here she demonstrates her unhappiness (although a solution, as a project supplement, was offered to her.)
Instead of taking responsibility or accepting help, Carylon demonstrates in her feedback her further lack of awareness that her comments hurt those of us who deliver professional work far beyond "the agreed product." Beware this client, Elancers: she will neither respect, appreciate, nor compensate you for your time and effort, and may go out of her way to damage your reputation for excellent, conscientious work.”
