Early on I saw that programming could be a dangerous proposition for both the client and developer. The trick is to be absolutely sure that both parties completely agree upon and understand what the finished product will be. I have found that the only consistently successful way to do that is through the use of storyboards.
Storyboards, first used by art directors in movies, are visually accurate mockups of what the various screens (scenes) of an application will look like. If the client can see the visual path that their application will follow, then they can easily understand the logic and intent behind it.
This has been my system and it has served me well.
Two years ago I started also developing mobile applications. I currently develop using Corona SDK. This is a multiple platform, rapid development tool. All of my mobile applications, without modification, run on iPad, iPhone, iPod, Android, Knook and Kindle devices. I chose Corona SDK as my only mobile application language because it meets all of my application development needs and allows for very rapid, cost effective programming.
