I hold a degree in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College, where I was also awarded the Harle Adair Dammann Writing Scholarship.
Over the past nine years, I've worked for a variety of publishing houses in both New York and California.
As an editor, my goal is to help the author polish and refine their work, without tampering with its spirit or message. This may mean providing specific advice and recommendations for improving structure, clarity, tone, narrative flow, topic coverage, and other "craft" aspects of the manuscript; it could entail a more detailed line-by-line edit; it could be somewhere in between. The level of editing depends entirely the client's preference.
I typically approach ghost writing in two different ways, depending on the demands of the project and the preferences of the writer or publisher. One method involves working closely with a main author (or authors) to synthesize existing raw data, information, or personal accounts into a smooth narrative format. In the second model, I fully research, develop and compose a manuscript to meet the specifications provided by the author or publisher.
I am also an experienced copywriter, well versed in writing web and catalog copy, flap copy, short articles, and press releases on tight deadlines.
