An esteemed author once wrote, "Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass."
That is a guiding principle for me. Whether I am writing or editing, I seek to paint words with vivid brushstrokes, tapping into ideas through images; feelings through sensations; facts through well-mined research.
Once I start a project, my focus goes to striking interesting notes of
expression within a given equation.
I write, edit, and assist in the development of:
- scripts for animation and comic books
- novels, including graphic novels
- artist bios
Writing: While my initial focus went solely into screenwriting, I now engage in a wide range of writing assignments. My short stories, film reviews, and poetry can also be found in literary magazines, film sites, and in a poetry anthology.
Editing: To date, I have critiqued and edited novels, as well as numerous e-books. Previously, I co-founded and edited an online literary journal, bringing together different artists and writers, many of whom are known in small press circuits.
Story development: In college, one of my shorts won a national student screenwriting award. Later, I provided story coverage for a film production company, and currently I develop screenplays, as well as novels. When it comes to story structure, character development, and narrative logic and flow, I zoom in on what works and what needs to change to make the story shine on its own terms.
Personal bio: I am the proverbial world citizen; born in Brazil, raised in the United States, and former resident of Eastern Europe.
