I've written professionally for over 20 years. Started as a copywriter at a regional agency, and was headhunted by a London one. I've written brochures for global businesses, websites for start-ups, speeches for sales conferences, drama for training purposes, recruitment and product ads, and been involved in branding.
I studied scriptwriting at the London Cartoon Centre and was approached by Marvel Comics. My first film treatment won me a meeting with Tim Bevan, the UK's most powerful producer thanks to the success of Four Weddings And A Funeral. I've written for BBC TV and been commissioned by production companies and filmmakers. Recently, I got a publisher for my online comic Dadtown, and am in talks with experienced people in LA about some childrens' IP I developed.
I coach writers and filmmakers to develop their work to its highest potential. My input in one short film programme tripled the chances of those who spent an hour with me being shortlisted to have a film made.
I write copy for adverts, for brochures, for websites, blogs, and more. To date I have worked with clients in sectors including retail, pharma, high tech, leisure, housing and charity.
The style I write in is determined by the needs of the project. That can mean serious or friendly, formal or welcoming, technical or general...whatever is appropriate for the job.
I have worked as a script editor and also with prose writers to develop their potential. One client won an award for her first novel. I have an understanding of structure, genre, style, and other issues involved in honing a story.
In the last couple of years I have scripted original drama and prose for clients internationally.
