I also created interactive online learning resources and activities, using a variety of software solutions such as Moodle (the college VLE), Prezi, Xerte and Xtranormal*.
I have always tried to find a suitable solution to a problem, and have developed a keen attention to detail, which is important when creating quality online activities.
I am passionate about E-learning, and aim to...
E-Learning - In recent years, I have developed a keen interest in education, through a number of funded projects I have completed in my time at Worcester College of Technology (WCT) –
Developing and evaluating ‘The Defined Model’ for students progressing into and on HE courses (Sept to Dec 2010) (http://tinyurl.com/cbsl6gw)
Transforming Teaching and Learning through e-learning (Jan to June 2011)
These projects looked at the development of ‘Personally Accountable Learning Packs’ (‘PAL Packs’) in WCT, where FE students work independently on learning packages with assessment.
I also completed a third project at the end of July.
Shared VLE Project (March to July 2012)
This project involved the development of online learning activities for WCT staff that also featured on a separate Shared Moodle site.
Through these projects, I have built up a strong understanding of why e-learning must be developed with clarity, in line with the teacher’s own specialism, and with reference to suitable pedagogies, thus leading to the production of quality independent online learning activities, for students at any level.
Training with different learning technologies
I advised staff, in group and one-to-one training sessions, on how to effectively use learning technologies and applications, such as Moodle, Qwizdom, Prezi, Xerte and Xtranormal.
