I have worked as an in-house as well as a freelance translator for over seven years, which allowed me to gain considerable expertise in the translation and localization industries within US, Latin American, Iberian and Mexican markets, dealing with such topics as mechanics and construction, Human Resources and internal communications, environmental policies and renewable energies, marketing and web contents, user guides and IT environments. In addition, I have worked as a subtitler and closed-captions editor.
In the course of these years, I have been able to acquire a thorough knowledge in the use of CAT Tools, such as Idiom TM, TRADOS and SDLX, with which I work on a daily basis, based on the requirements of each customer.
Also, in the position of Language Specialist, I had the chance to train and coach junior in-house translators.
Besides my professional practice as a translator and interpreter, I am in the course of completing my second University Degree in Literature and Linguistics, specialized in Modern and Foreing Literature and Contrastive En-Es Grammar.
