The Definitive Dossier of PTSD in Whistleblowers
In February, I published my second book. The book examines the traumatic effects of blowing the whistle on corruption both in the public and private sphere. The book is based on thousands of hours of interviews with more than one hundred whistleblowers, as well as my experience with the subject of my first book, Chuck Panici.
Prosecutors Gone Wild: The Inside Story of the Trial of Chuck Panici, John Gliottoni, and Louise Marshall.
In October 2012, I published my first book. It examines the corruption trial of Chuck Panici, the former powerful mayor of the City of Chicago Heights. In 1993, he was convicted of a number of corruption related charges, including RICO charges. This book carefully examines that trial and proves that Panici, along with co-defendants John Gliottoni and Louise Marshall, were innocent and set-up by ambitious prosecutors working in tandem with desperate criminals.
Freelance Work:
Since 2010, I’ve worked as a freelance journalist appearing in a variety of local and national media: Chicago Reader, Chicago Crusader, Patch, Daily Caller, NWI Times, and World Net Daily. I broke the story revealing that the Laundromat where two Chicago firefighters died had a long history of building code violations. I’ve also covered Cook County government for a number of media- NWI Times, Patch, and Welles Park Bulldog, since April. I broke the story of racial comments by Toni Preckwinkle, the $5 billion unfunded liability in the Cook County Pension System, and a conflict of interest embarrassing to Commissioner Joan Murphy.
Nationally, I broke several stories including the story of Amado Espinoza-Ramirez, a suspected child molester released by ICE who later escaped. I also broke news of a meeting between Senator Marco Rubio and three powerful Democratic legislators: Congressman Luis Gutierrez, Senator Robert Menendez, and Congressman Charles Gonzalez.
The Provocateur October 2007-December 2009
For over two years, I blogged independently at the Provocateur. During that time, I broke a number of stories that gained me a reputation for hard hitting reporting.
Dr. Anna Chacko is a story I discovered and developed on my own. Dr. Chacko is a radiologist with a history of abuse. She had been working at the Pittsburgh VA since October 2008 when I picked up her story. As a result of my reporting, the VA was forced to suspend Chacko and eventually she was terminated. The story was eventually picked up by the Pittsburgh Tribune and parts were also published on Big Government.
Starting at the end of 2007, I continuously found corrupt links between Emory University and Grady Hospital. That includes the discovery of no less than twenty whistle blowers that have been paid off and silenced by Emory University. My reporting became such a problem for Emory that they spent about one hundred thousand dollars investigating me and my sources. I am the only one to discover a link between disgraced psychology professor Charles Nemeroff and the corruption at Grady Hospital.
