I knew I wanted to be a writer ever since I discovered that wallets were not, in fact, magical money dispensers, and I would eventually have to work for my Wonder Bread.
In December 2011 I became the first person ever to graduate from Truman State University with a B.F.A. in Creative Writing. When I was done, I found myself with a degree, a husband, a baby and a cat. I spend most of my time with my daughter, and split the rest between writing, settling Catan, and generally being awesome.
I am a rabid perfectionist, and to me, just "finishing" a project isn't good enough. I am literally unable to submit work that is not as thorough and detailed as possible, which is why my work is the best.

Truman State University, Associate Professor of English
Professor Ahmad was one of my professors at Truman State University. For her class I completed a 15 page research paper to present at Truman's Student Research Conference, and Professor Ahmad told me that my paper was possibly the best she'd ever seen for its clarity and attention to detail.
Truman State University, Assistant Professor of English
Professor D'Agostino was my academic adviser at Truman State University, and also taught 4 of my classes, including my senior capstone class, for which he mentored me on my final capstone project.
