Service Description

I have over 15 years of experience in writing and editing across a variety of genres. I received my BA in English with Honors from UCLA, which has one of the most prestigious undergraduate English programs in the U.S.

My mastery of the English language is ironic, in that my mother tongue was Hungarian, and that I did not start speaking English until I was six years old! It is perhaps because of my struggles to communicate with my new English-speaking classmates in first grade that I learned to love the written word as much as I do, and to appreciate the power and grace of fine writing. I became determined to find the right word for everything! I'll never forget the day I discovered the word 'dream' -- that I no longer had to call them 'the pictures in my sleep.' The thrill of that moment of discovery has never left me! In that moment, I discovered the power of language. In college, I majored in English Literature, which opened more vistas of reading enjoyment. As a senior, I also served as a tutor and mentor to incoming freshman, and endeavored to pass along my passion and insights into the art of writing well.

In addition to my love of reading and writing, I enjoy cooking, genealogy, politics, hiking, learning new languages (I speak five as of now), and raising my children.
