“Ramji's work seemed good, and he seemed responsive at first. Then he started disappearing. We had made it very clear in the job description that the job needed to be done quickly, and that we needed daily updates. He ran into problems with the site. No problem, we said, and waited. Then he started disappearing and refusing to give progress reports. We had to chase after him several times. Finally, two weeks after the due date, he disappeared for a full week without a word. When he finally got back, no update. He said he'd been in hospital, but would not give an update. Several days later, after trying to communicate with him, we had to close the job and find someone else. Then he showed up, talking about how delays happen etc. Yes, delays happen, we said, but you refused to communicate. He got upset and said we were being unfair. Sadly, the $255 we paid him for the first part of the job is lost, as E lance refused to do anything at all about it. They said they 'might" look into his performance, or put a note on his file, but could not tell me for sure. They wouldn't even refund their fees. We had to start over. All in all a terrible experience, with hundreds of dollars and several weeks wasted. We will not post work here again. ”
“Frank is a good person, but lacks understanding the technicalities of a framework, which is bound by its own limitations, as coders we can tweak it only to an extent, careless tweaking will ensure that the framework can never be updated.
I informed her of all the above and also told that the project in hand is a trial and error method since, the script is new and things can not be done in speed like the regular projects and agreed to do that only in phases and billing was agreed to be hourly.
I delivered the first phase of the project and got paid, and then worked on the second phase of the project and with its complexity in framework it got delayed. but still I got the second phase done. but since there was no access I could not upload it. The delay was 4 days Meanwhile the client cancelled the job and asked for the money back, since I have already finished working on the second phase I was expecting her to pay me for phase 2, but she was not ready to listen to it but keep insisting on asking the money back for the completed phase I.
I even asked her to come on skype for a negotiation to get the project done, since I have never left client unhappy so far, but the demand was unchanged.
I was not possible for me to bear double losses of not getting paid for the work done in phase 2 and returning the money for the work done in phase I.
She is a good person, but lack of technical awareness, had put both of us in this place. I wish her good luck in future projects.”
