Dr. Torres has over 45 years of experience in real estate analysis, asset valuation, construction project management, and investment banking, with emphasis on the commercial sector and international real estate. Since 1989 until his retirement in 2008, Dr. Torres was President/Chief Appraiser of Property Appraisers, Inc., a firm specializing in valuations, litigation support, and commercial realty. He was also the President and CEO of Intrex Capital Corporation, specializing in commercial loans. Also, he was a Managing Partner of Intrex Realty Capital LLC, the General Partner of a group of incipient private equity funds in development geared towards realty acquisition, mortgage portfolios, venture capital, and other endeavors.
As a Senior Management Consultant at the San Juan, Puerto Rico office of Touche Ross & Company (now Deloitte), he undertook the design of several computerized project control systems for large construction projects, among them the channeling of the Yaguez River in Mayaguez, PR; the addition of a second runway to the San Juan International Airport; the construction of a nursing home in Ponce, PR; and a large expansion to a Star Kist Tuna canning plant, also in Ponce, PR.
