I am an experienced journalist, who worked at editor level in UK regional newspapers before becoming editor of a business magazine.

For the past five years I have been freelancing on business and finance magazines, including 18 months as a sub-editor at the Financial Times in London.

Service Description
After more than 20 years in journalism I can produce professionally written features on almost any topic, although business/finance is my speciality.

I am also a fast and accurate copy editor. My formal newspaper training enables me to turn turgid prose into bright, readable copy, and I have a good understanding of legal issues, including copyright and defamation. I always hit deadlines.

I often produce publications on a contract basis, most recently for AltAssets (, which involved helping the company to design and edit the launch issues of two magazines.

I spent five years as editor of Better Business magazine, where I was responsible for writing cover stories, liaising with freelancers, and commissioning features and photographs, together with all aspects of design and production.

I have a thorough knowledge of the business sector, from start-up to corporate level, and I can write and/or edit copy quickly and accurately. My formal newspaper training (NCTJ) means I have a good understanding of legal issues, including copyright and defamation.

I have also written an e-book, and I am well-placed to help writers with this type of project.
