My focus is on business-to-business (B2B) content creation, and there are a few industries that are so heavily saturated that it would take Herculean effort to achieve measurable results.
If after some cursory research there isn't a reasonable conclusion that you could achieve the results you need, you're better off knowing that than spending time and money on a process that's not likely to generate any business.
(For most B2B niches, however, the vast majority of your competition is clueless online, and a solid strategy along with powerful content should lead to measurable results that will pay dividends for years).
