Hello! My name is Jodie Young. I'm a native English speaker (of the American variety) and live in Virginia with my husband, son, and 90-pound mutt. I am new to Elance but not to professional writing. I have been studying and working with language for many years, having taken four years of Latin in high school and then gone on to major in Latin in college, where I served for three years as a writing tutor helping other students to improve their written work. I graduated magna cum laude from Franklin and Marshall College, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa (an academic honor society), and received my college's top award for excellence in the study of Latin. Since graduating from Harvard Law School, I have worked for over twelve years researching, writing, editing, and proofreading various legal opinions and memoranda, and I am consistently given the most difficult and complex matters on which to work.
While I have expertise in legal writing and research, I also have some background in (and a love for) astronomy: I minored in astronomy in college, served as a research assistant to an astronomy professor, and worked for three years (while in law school) running a radio telescope at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
