Rebecca Blanton is an award-winning writer and photojournalist. She was a speaker at TED Global 2009 in Oxford, England.

It was the first to do so in 40 years with less than $1 million in investment. She started it with $230 raised by local citizens in a yard sale for her.
She's been a forest fire fighter, police officer and massage therapist, but continues to fall back on her first loves - writing and photography.
