A Florida native, I graduated from West Point in 1989 and served in the Army for a few years, including service in the Gulf War. After the Army, I co-owned a small business for a number of years. I then did a 2-year stint selling advertising to small businesses before moving on to medical sales, eventually selling large pieces of capital equipment to hospitals. I worked for huge companies like Abbott, Eli Lilly and Danaher.
