I am enthusiastic and keen to edit and/or proofread all types of writing, from adult to children's writing, both fiction and non-fiction.
I can also write for children on a wide range of topics. I have been an editor and writer for the children's publishers, Usborne Publishing Ltd, for over 12 years. I specialize in simplifying complex topics to bring them within the grasp of a young audience, by using clear English and recognizable terms. I have written on topics as complicated as stem cells, species extinction and the First World War.
I also have experience of editing a number of how-to books, including cookery books, art and craft manuals and pet-care guides.
A few years ago , I discovered that I enjoyed writing puzzles, and I created a popular series of puzzle books for ages 8-80, which included Maths, Memory, and Picture puzzles. I am currently providing a Spot-the-Difference puzzle for the Telegraph newspaper every week.
