Service Description

Since 2007, I have worked as a mental health counselor and art therapist, with experience helping adults, frail elders, special populations, and children age 6 and up. I have also done direct care for adults with disabilities and severe or persistent mental illnesses.

My theoretical background for my practice encompasses humanistic and cognitive-behavioral techniques, integrated with alternative healing and/or creative practices where appropriate.

From 2009-2011, I hosted creative group workshops and art events at Secret Hideout Studio, in the Hawthorne/Belmont area of Portland, OR. I hope to eventually expand this trial run into a cooperative healing arts practice that focuses on art and healing/creative healing modalities.

As a practicing artist, I have been creating, exhibiting and selling 2/D and mixed media work in Portland, OR since 2005. I have been showing my work in visual art and original wearables/jewelry design since a young age.

I have been journaling and keeping a creative journal and travel diary since a young age. From 2006 to the present, I have written poetry and performed in a variety of venues in Chicago, IL and Portland, OR including the now-notorious No Exit Cafe's "In One Ear" open mic, Lounge Ax, Morseland Theater, as well as Portland's The Blue Note, Broadway Books, Multnomah County Library, and more.
