I started my formal artistic training at the Academy of Art University in 1997. In addition to traditional art, I began working on the first version of Maya. Later I earned my Bachelors of Fine Arts at San Jose State University with the highest honors (summa cum laude).
Since then I've taught several training classes on the job as well as at SJSU. As a character artist, my typical workflow includes Maya, Mudbox, and Photoshop. I'm also familiar with a variety of other packages including ZBrush, After Effects, etc. In addition to modeling and texturing, I also enjoy technical art as well.
Along the way, I've had experience shipping multiple AAA titles. As lead character artist on my last title, I did all the rigging work for our company and managed the character pipeline as a bridge between code and art. I was also responsible for a team of interns and character artists.
