I have a plethora of job experiences which have provided me with the diverse skill set I have today. As a wildland firefighter, I acquired leadership skills, teamwork, patience and the ability to work hard for long hours (and keep my sanity). As an international bike tour leader, I learned how to think on my feet, problem solve, communicate clearly in English and decently in French and Italian. As a waitress, I have further practiced multi-tasking, learned to dissipate tense situations and soothe difficult customers, handle money, manage stress effectively and have honed my multi-tasking abilities.
As a writer, editor and photographer on my college newspapers, I learned diligence, more leadership, organization, the ability to talk successfully with a wide range of people, creativity and multi-tasking. As a freelance blogger and writer, I am able to work under a deadline for an editor, work with the editor to perfect the article or blog and take pictures when needed. I worked for the US Forest Service in the summers of 2007 and 2008 as a trail crew member and wilderness ranger. I also worked in the winters as a volunteer back country ski and snowmobile ranger.

I worked as a wildland fire fighter each summer for the BLM -- the first two summers in Oregon, and then the latter four in Colorado.
