I am a professional copyeditor, development editor, proofreader, and writer with a decade of experience in the business. The majority of the projects I have worked on have been academic reference books, including multivolume sets, where it is particularly important - and difficult - to maintain stylistic consistency throughout. The two most recent projects I completed are The Encyclopedia of Political Science (5 volumes; forthcoming from CQ Press) and The Encyclopedia of United States Indian Policy and Law (2 volumes; CQ Press, 2009) I was the primary copyeditor on the latter title, which was a CHOICE Outstanding Academic Title for 2009.
I also have experience with basic Quark tagging, proofreading typeset pages for spelling and grammatical accuracy, sidebar and caption writing, and fact checking. Almost all the projects I have worked on have involved direct communication with authors, so I possess excellent communication and diplomacy skills.
In addition, I am familiar with fiction writing. I coauthored a novel the film rights for which were bought by the Alban Institute (France) in 2006.
I am deliberate, observant, and dependable. I have never missed a deadline. If you choose to hire me, your work will get the close care and attention it deserves.
