"I can't believe there was ever a time when I thought editors were optional. You and what you've done to the manuscript is AMAZING. Your services are priceless and essential. Thank you thank you thank you!" ~ Carrie Fenn, YA author. I work each and every job to ensure all my clients feel this way.

As a full-time freelance editor, I've been blessed to work with many amazing clients, some of whom return to me regularly with additional projects. I'm the principal editor for Crescendo Publishing as well as the Liberty Fund. I"m a former English teacher and newspaper reporter / editor, both of which continue to aid and inform my freelance projects.

In my spare time, I write fiction. In 2014 I published my YA novel, The Dragon's Daughter and have just finished the first draft of my fourth novel, a ghost story set in the mountains of Tennessee.
Service Description
"I picked Sharon because her profile showed that she was experienced, knowledgeable, and professional. I was not disappointed. From the start, she made sure she understood exactly what I wanted, and was a very open and prompt communicator. She always assured me that she was available for me to ask questions to, and when I did, she gave me thorough and insightful answers. I believe that her feedback as an editor has been very beneficial already and will help me improve. I would hire her again and recommend her to others." -- Kim Banach

"I will never write another book without you," Alan Thorne, author of The Tiger's Tail, told me. Let me show you why my clients call my editing "impressive" and say I'm "mighty at [my] craft." Cindy Schlichting said, "Her input and editing...elevated [my writing] to something I could have never imagined." Michelle Talbert said, "Sharon will be my editor of choice for all of my written and published work going forward."

With my English teaching background (as well as my time spent as a newspaper editor), I am a natural proofreader and copy editor. I know grammar rules backwards and forwards, and I have no problem meeting deadlines. Your manuscript, paper, article, or e-mail will shine when I'm finished with it. I have the results posted here on my profile of the various tests I've taken to prove these claims. I don't give you self-evaluations--I give you my actual, tested scores.

I have been writing for the last 18 years in one capacity or another. I am an experienced journalist, skilled in researching and interviewing. If you have a need for expository writing, I can provide you with unique, clear, interesting, intriguing pieces.

Because of the time I have spent developing my own fiction, I can help you with yours. I know what it takes to bring characters to life, to find holes in plots, to build suspense that keeps your readers engrossed. I love to help writers develop their stories.

In addition, I am an active member of the EDITORIAL FREELANCERS ASSOCIATION.
