Having started work on the old typewriter with ribbons and carbon paper, I have progressed over the years to achieving synergy with Microsoft and all its glorious packages.
I am proficient with shorthand typing, audio typing and copy typing, being able to compose and create formal work and creative work.
Leaving school with no qualifications and a head full of nonsense, it took quite some time to realise that had been a big mistake. Finding enthusiasm for education late in life I returned to part time learning and am proud to say recently gained a degree in Business Management, with distinction.
With many years experience writing letters, reports, minutes, newsletters and editing (and often re-editing) the same I would like to use my talent to a monetary advantage. Formal writing, including preparation of power point is something I do find rewarding and something I can do well. I was recently invited to write an article for The Scottish Parliament website on my established good practice at work and this published in 2009.
Creative writing is something very different but I find it is something where I can use imagination and passion not normally unleashed. This includes poetry and short stories.
