“I wish I had read feedback on this client before submitting a proposal. Client asked for artists to bid on a project that was 5-7 pages long. By the time the dust settled, it was 25 pages and not (surprisingly) included searching for stock photos that client didn't actually want to pay for but, rather, wanted images snatched from the internet (I DID provide, free of charge to client, stock images from BigStock Photo at my own expense) plus various color options. You would think, given the scope of work being 5x what was in the original proposal that the pay would increase 5x. No, I got an additional $40 for my trouble. Client said project was a rush and I did everything possible to meet deadlines – my original proposal having a 3-day turnaround. Project dragged out on client's end from May through July, at which point client fell off the face of the planet (but did release funds, thank goodness) until resurfacing in September. At this point, I had ceased being a provider on Elance and my status reflected this change in my availability. That didn't stop this client from sending multiple harassing messages demanding further extensive changes. When client requested the working files, I provided them. Not sure why I have to respond to emails within 24 hours when client can take 3 months.
I am a five-star provider through Elance with a history of very satisfied customers who have continued to work with me both on and off of Elance. I pride myself on doing good work, timely work and being very easy to work with. But I do NOT allow myself to be walked on or disrespected. I am a professional designer with more than 20 years experience. I couldn't care less about this 2-star review as I am no longer freelancing on Elance. But for future potential providers, I highly recommend you take my feedback and the feedback of others into consideration before submitting proposals on this client's jobs.”
