I am passionate about translating because language is a skill set with no borders or limits and work is therefore practice. I view communication as an art and language as a tool, and artistic abilities can and must always be further honed.
I am first and foremost a creative person and view translation as a semi-creative act. Aside from language, I enjoy 20th century and contemporary music, art, philosophy, post-modern and hypothetical literature, acoustics, psychoacoustics, hospitality and travel.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Temple University in 2008 with a BA in Russian and Spanish and a minor in Italian, and a distinction in my Russian major. I have lived in Spain for several months and been to Italy and France, and have a good deal of real-world experience with speakers of all of the above languages. Additionally, I have taught ESL classes in Philadelphia and worked with the Association of Latin-American Musicians of Philadelphia. I am currently working with the Dean of the Temple University College of Liberal Arts, Teresa Soufas, on translations for a book that she is writing that will be published by the University of Chicago Press. I have also done translation work in the past for a Philadelphia law firm.
