Service Description

I have a PhD in philosophy from the University of Melbourne where I also completed a postgraduate diploma in editing and communications. Working as an intern with an Australian scholarly publisher, I edited the entire manuscript of a book by an Australian historian who was very pleased with the results. This work required meticulous fact-checking, proof-reading and stylistic consistency. As it was not written for an exclusively academic readership, it also demanded a style that would appeal to a much wider audience.

Being most interested in writing and editing material for a general audience, my own academic publications have been limited to reviewing books for peer-reviewed journals. For the general reader, I have written many short articles for a book that is much like an encyclopedia of notable ideas throughout history. Besides the broad knowledge and research skills needed for such writing, my own habit of reading condensed factual articles, reports and opinion pieces has given me a thorough understanding of the clear and concise style that most readers appreciate.
